Leader - One other movie that has the potential to inspire the audience for 2.5 hours...I would really love to see many more intellects thinking about the future of our country. It is one of the better attempts by Mr. Sekhar Kammula...I could only see Arjun Prasad (not Rana) while I watched the movie. I hope that Leader is more than a movie for Rana and crew.In Telugu film industry, we got the chance to watch many such movies that are similar in one or the other way (Like 'Baratheyudu', 'Tagore', 'Aparichitudu', 'Stalin'...) which make the audience think about issues faced by the common man in their day-to-day life. But all these films weren't successful in making a long term impact. Now I started wondering how could Gandhi, Patel, Nehru, Bose etc. could stand as inspiration for crores of Indians for these many years!!!
I would like to know the ways which would enable the long lasting social consciousness in every citizen of India. Initially I thought it was the education that was lacking due to which we don't bother of many things which trouble others...but later I realized its only the common sense (one additional thought from country's perception before making any decision) that should be sufficient to make a person understand about the troubles that he/she will bring in while satisfying their own interests.
I know one of my friend Rahul Bhatia who started practicing some small things like, not throwing garbage on roads and public transportation etc. and one more thing I liked was he even hints others about his act which might bring in a change...One more friend of mine, Sachin Jethe who takes interest in switching off the unwanted lights in the office...He knows the value of electricity in real sense (he isn't bothered what he gains by saving office power - for him its National property...that's it...and that is how it should be treated).
I hope by being principled (following such simple things) we may not be a become a transformer who can bring in renaissance, but at least we can be a good citizen.
